We will host two world renowned conservation scientists, that will give plenary lectures in the conference:
Prof. Hugh Possingham from the University of Queensland, Australia, Imperial College London, UK, and the chief scientist of the Nature Conservancy.
Prof. Richard Grenyer from the University of Oxford.
The day before the meeting (2nd of April 2017) will be dedicated to a free field trip in the beautiful Zin Valley and En Avdat, near Midreshet Ben Gurion, and provide ample opportunities to meet and engage with conservationists in a beautiful setting. The trip will be guided by the fascinating Gilad Ben-Tzvi. Bring Comfortable shoes. We will meet at 11:00 at the Ben-Gurion tomb.
Also, in the early hours of the morning on the 4th of April (the second day of the conference proper) we will have a short birding trip to the nearby tomb of the Ben-Gurions to catch some nice resident birds and migratory delights. The tour will be guided by the amazing Yael Lehnardt. Be sure to bring your binoculars...
